WHAT'S GOOD EVERYONE ?

Heyyyy you! Well, my name is Leslie. So imma be real with you, this is my first time writing a blog and I can say I'm pretty hyped to see how this turns out. Well, an interesting fact about me is that I started college when I was 16 years old, which is type freaky at first because everyone else is like 18, 19, 20, or higher. Not a lot of people at my school know this about me, except my close friends, but hey I guess I can trust you guys :) ! lol.

I am both Cuban and Peruvian, ( which is a strange mix cus like Cubans are hella loud and peruvians are, well peruvians, not so loud). I live in North Jersey. Ummm, my hobbies I could say consists of a strong passion for the violin which I have been playing for seven years now, but due to my passion to music in general, I have also learned how to play the piano, guitar, clarinet, and the hardest of all, the recorder.

I actually painted a duplicate of this on a canvas, for my room
(just to show you how much I actually love the violin and art.)
Everyone says I'm a pretty artsy person because I love to draw, paint, sculpt, and do random DIY's I find off of youtube. Which side note: Youtube has become the answer to many of my problems and bored moments in life because I find everything on it, so don't be surprised if I post links to youtube videos within my blog posts.

Anywho, being that Im young and I love to read, I can honestly say that this is going to become an exciting adventure between you and me. I can already feel a connection. Well, I know we will have time to connect more in the near future, but well this is me and it was a pleasure telling you who I am :) Take care! Byyyee......

Call Me Thavy

Hey everyone, my full name is Sonthavy. It's pronounced Sun- Tah- Vee. I know it's weird, but my parents made that shit up on the spot so I should at least give them some credit for uniqueness. (Honestly, you should hear my siblings' names, but I don't feel like bringing them up.) I'm mostly Cambodian, not that it really matters. I'm from South Jersey where we say "hoagies" instead of "subs." I honestly don't know how North Jersey lives without a Wawa up here. Quick Chek reminds me of a gas station that you go to when you need to take a pit stop on a road trip because there is no where else to go.

As a writer, I really feel most confident in topics I can relate to. I can't lie, I overthink too much when it comes down to certain things and everything makes me feel some type of way sooner or later, but it helps when I can talk freely. I have experience with blogging through Tumblr, surprise- surprise and I actually have blogged before for a course I took in high school on a book. We used blogger so I am quite familiar with how it works.

Welllllll, for the most part at least. Don't have too much of a high hope for me when it comes to technology.

That's really it. I hope you enjoyed my brief bio. I hope that I get more acquainted with you all as the semester goes by.

Diving into Uncharted Territories

Hello everyone my name is Chris S. I am not really about the blogger life so let’s see how this goes. Im so about the trap life and making stacks, ya dig ? Well I guess I should introduce myself and give some background. Im from North Jersey, yes I am apart of the taylor ham gang. Don't hate, it is apart of the north jersey lifestyle. When I think about it the rest of New Jersey is just kinda there. What is even central jersey, and south jersey, more like just jersey shore. NJ as in meaning North Jersey. Well as you can see I like to ramble on about shit that really does matter to anyone, but me.

I bring to the Group 3 blogger gang some pretty sweet talents, like being straight up about the literature that I read and if it trash or rad. I am really not into literature but some pieces really intrigue me if this happens,I can not stop thinking about the piece or talking about it for quite sometime. I hope that through this semester I get to read some really rad stuff. If I get that I am sure to give you guys a treat with the feedback I will post, just make sure you're ready to laugh.

I am big into barstool blogs and love reading the TFM blogs as well, they relate to me as I am in college and love sports. They always put an awesome twist on their blogs and always got me cracking up. For books though, I enjoy mystery books, they keep me involved in the book and I always want to read more.

Well I hope that explains a little bit more about me and whats in store for the future. I am excited to bring my blog game to a new level.

Greetings lmao

I don't feel like I'm a very unique writer or have much authenticity to offer in that field. I tend to express myself best when I am doing other activities. Some of those activities are singing/creating music, drawing, modeling, and i guess acting. I'm a terrible actor but i can try and that's what counts.. right? Anyways, I do like to write my own music and I always try to think outside of the box. Sometimes it's hard finding the box to look outside from, but when i do it's a pretty interesting adventure.. The same goes for when I am studying a piece of literature. I look for the uniqueness of the piece and the creativity of the author. Words have so much power. Soooo much. And when i encounter a piece of writing that utilizes complex techniques like word play, foreshadowing, and I can't think of their appropriate names so you know.. COOL STUFF.. I get inspired and blown away by those things. I love art and I feel like literature is one of our most powerful forms of it.

Here is a song i made with a friend a year ago, I wrote the lyrics to my part (singing part) so i guess that's considered literature .. I'm actually a good singer so you'll like it if you're into depressing, sad love songs.

Joe's First Post

Hey, what's going on? My names Joe and this is my first ever blog post. This post is my general thoughts about literature. But before we get to the literature talk, let’s get some background information about myself. My hometown is West Milford and I graduated from West Milford high school. I'm a generally laid back kind of guy when it comes to anything. My favorite sport is hockey and my favorite team is the New York Rangers. Anyway, my take on literature is very broad. I feel that literature is anything that is written or spoken that creates an image to a reader. In literature there does not have to have a theme or a main focus, literature to me is just something that creates an image and appeals to an audience. I am not a reader by heart. Reading is one of my least favorite things to do. But when I do read, I enjoy reading web articles, magazines, and anything that involves action. That’s a little information about myself and my view on literature.

First blog post by Erik L.

My name is Erik and I always struggle with writing and reading growing being  youngest of four sons in the family and had the belief that I had to match my brothers  and not go on my own pace.It took me a significant amount of time to understand that and towards how I go about literature if it is  interpreting it or understanding what it means to me but most importantly to others as well. This allowed me to be open-minded and always be determine to not be satisfied with one answer to a question I am Ecuadorian and my family grew up from humble upbringings achieve the american dream  in the United states but I only say “humble” because it is euphemism  of the 3rd world uneducated poor individuals who had to spent their time doing gritty work ,rather than have the educational experiences me and my brothers , to be successful .Education was so important to my family and my father always ingrained and recite to me and my brothers   “I don't want you to do what I did growing up” .

I been cooking for two years  and experiment creating new recipes so anything I do read are from articles or books about cooking but recently in the summer I have read some essays in “The Best American Essays of the Century” by editor Joyce Carol Oates and co editor Robert Atwan and I learned how some of the authors of these essays conveyed their ideas through writing. I also try to inform myself with any political inquiries day by day because it helps me understand the society I live and how it changes day by day.
